IUI involves placing the sperm within the uterine cavity using a special catether.
The sperm used can be from the male partner or from a donor in case of single women. The sperm is prepared eliminating dead and poor quality elements so that you are left with the best content of the sample.
This procedure requires follicular monitoring to be timed exactly with the ovulation. Drugs to stimulate ovulation can be used as well in the same procedure. The success rates are between 10 and 20 per cent.
